Beware of Corruption

2 Corinthians 11:2-3 (New International Version):

“For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”

In this passage, the apostle Paul expresses his deep concern for the Corinthians and their spiritual well-being. He uses the metaphor of a marriage relationship to illustrate his commitment to presenting them as a pure bride to Christ, who is their ultimate spiritual husband.

Paul’s jealousy for the Corinthians is not driven by selfish motives but rather by a godly zeal to protect them from spiritual harm and keep them devoted solely to Christ. He compares their vulnerability to the deception Eve faced in the Garden of Eden when she was deceived by the cunning of the serpent, leading to the fall of humanity.

Paul’s fear is that the Corinthians’ minds may be led astray, losing their sincere and pure devotion to Christ. His words serve as a reminder to remain vigilant against false teachings, distractions, and temptations that may hinder their relationship with Christ.

This passage underscores the importance of maintaining a steadfast commitment to Christ, guarding against anything that may compromise our devotion to Him. It encourages believers to stay rooted in the truth of the Gospel and to prioritize their sincere and pure relationship with Christ above all else.

Today, some people are duplicating Jesus and portraying Him wrongly. That’s why so many churches exist. Seeing the truth makes you to share the truth (Apostle Paul saw the truth and he shared it by writing up to 13 Epistles).

One of the most dangerous things to fear in the life of any child of God is corruption. Corruption is the most devastating and most dangerous thing that can happen to someone’s life. God detest corruption. That’s why, any corrupt thing can’t have access to God’s kingdom. Eve was deceived and brought corruption to her life.

Before corruption entered garden of Eden, their life was beautiful that even beasts respects them. Their mistake (the communication of Eve with the old serpent) made them to be pursued from that garden.

1Corinthians 15:33, don’t be deceived because evil communication corrupts good manners. Be mindful of your communication. The corruption in this world comes by communicating with the corrupted.

If you want to be a good husband or wife be careful of the communication you allow. To be a good teenager, be careful of the type of communication you allow. Communication is the medium for contact. One’s belief system will be disrupted/corrupted if one allows bad communication. Many people are Suffering disruption today; marriage, career, business, destinies are disrupted because of corruption. 2Corinthians 2:17, corruption is even in the word people hear.
